Suomi is the Finnish word for Finland. The production technique of Suomi -glass plate is extremely demanding, large unique plate made by incalmo-technique. There are only few glass blowers in Finland that can produce and design a totally round and solid Incalmo-plate. Kari Alakoski is one of those few. Suomi -plate is only one master piece of Kari Alakoski, the proof of his masterful knowhow and handicrafts.

Alakoski also possesses the knowhow and skills for demanding techniques of steam blowing and filigree. He applies these techniques when developing new masterpieces of glass art in his own production.

Suomi plate is a rare piece of collectibles. It’s designed shapes and large size makes every piece as unique.
