Desing palet –brand was born as a part of my design thesis. My previous education as an artisan left me with a powerful urge to work with my hands, something only strengthened by the skills learned with textile design. My starting point was to design a feel-good collection based on environmental aspects and Finnish nature, with slow living and relaxation as key words. Nature and the myriad surfaces it creates fascinate me, and so the inspiration for the LUMO-collection came from wild Finnish forests, where I go to relax. The soft textile decoration brings the peace of a forest indoors.
LUMO-collection combines the shapes and materials of nature with the fairy-tale-like spirit of a forest. The hand-printed fabrics show both graphic handiwork and the random forms of nature.
As the product of the month I chose the tree trunk –shaped HALKO-pillow, which is an excellent shape for relaxation, no matter whether you like to keep it under your neck, feet, back, or just hold it. It also works as a decoration piece, and has turned out to be a favourite with children for their plays and games. HALKO-pillow is made of strong linen/cotton, and the inner pillow is made in Finland.
From Design Shop Outlet collection, I select a tree plant designed by Jouko Kärkkäinen.
Following the growth can teach us a lot, such as patience and respect for nature. From small seedlings grows a large forest!

The product of the month is the Habitare-success: The small decoration photographs. With these small framed photographs you can get a new look to your home fast and even with a small budget. The result is still very stylish. The pictures have themes from landscapes and nature and you can combine them as you like, where ever your home needs a new atmosphere.
These photographs are just a small example of my work. I shoot e.g. landscapes, nature and different surfaces and the tiniest details will turn into art when ennobled into a photograph.
Also people and the small and big events of everyday life fascinate me. I photograph them in my studio or where ever they happen.
My favorite product from DesignShopOutlet.com’s assortment is “Tin Time” clock designed by Risto Granlund from Muototalo BRAVOO. I like Risto’s innovations and styling not forgetting his humour.

Their form is pure and they speak with they silence. Jewelry can be imposing but also curious and silent, a question?
