ARKHEEN – a new trademark of Henna Aspegren

I am an architect and an entrepreneur in Tornio, in northern Finland. Since 1997 I have been running my company ARKHE. In the Greek language the name means a beginning, a foundation.

Now I have a new beginning again. I have started working on an old idea, a dream that I have had for a long time. It is a product for interior decoration with a structure, which makes it adjustable for the space available. At the beginning of 2010 the new product was named ARKHEEN. In ‘meänkieli’, the dialect that is spoken in this part of Finland, the name means “for the weekdays”. It implies the idea of art as an integral part of everyday life. The modules that the products consist of are made of Finnish plywood by Finnish women. In the designing of ARKHEEN products, the idea is to make durable versatile products for both interior decoration and gift products – to enable you to carry out your ideas.
