Ilmiriita is a textile brand created by designer Johanna Kunelius.

Ilmiriita offers bold designs for interior textiles such us cushions and toys. Ilmiriita was born from Kunelius' passion for telling stories through her pattern designs. The essence of the Ilmiriita brand is the expressive nature of its Finnish textiles. Ilmiriita’s playful characters can have adventures in cushions or become toys for all ages.

Johanna Kunelius (born 3.5.1975) is a textile designer from Jyväskylä, Finland. She studied textile design at the Helsinki University of Art and Design and finished her Master of Arts degree in 2004. Now Kunelius works with the Ilmiriita concept in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where she combines the influences of Finnish and Russian culture in innovative ways.

Ilmiriita is a mixture of timeliness, simplicity, insightfulness, tentativeness, mystery, humor, fresh colours and happiness!
